After root canals have been treated in a tooth (for pulpitis or periodontitis, as in this clinical case), it is advisable to cover the tooth with an indirect restoration to prevent splitting. This could be a ceramic onlay or a crown. The decision is made by the orthopedic surgeon depending on the specific clinical situation. In this patient B., 52 years old, the lateral teeth after endodontics were restored using fiberglass pins and ceramic crowns.
The remaining teeth (including the implant) were covered with all-ceramic crowns and onlays, and veneers. Before prosthetics, gingivectomy (gum trimming) was performed to visually lengthen the height of the tooth crowns.
